Green Practices

Since completing our GREEN certification through NARI's Green Education Program, we have begun utilizing GREEN practices in all our projects.

What is "Green" Building?  Dozens of local and regional programs across the country set minimum standards for winning a “green label.” The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and the Green Building Council have a set of voluntary guidelines that can be used to make the “green” grade.

While there is currently no formal grading system (due to the differences between the regions and the complexity of opportunities available for each of the regions), both organizations have agreed on five main common themes that a builder can implement for “green” building. They include the following:

  1. Site work that minimizes the environmental impact of the house during and after construction
  2. Energy efficiency
  3. Water efficiency
  4. Use of recycled materials and materials whose production can be sustained without harming people or the environment
  5. Healthful indoor-air quality

While Chandler Building and Development practices green methods on all projects, we will only implement those methods that impact time and/or price to our customers who have requested their project to "Go Green."
